UMHS, Inc. recently attended the 2nd annual Early Childhood Resource and Screening Fair in Enterprise. This fair was geared towards offering families information and resources available in Wallowa county. With the help of Jayne, Health Resource Specialist, we were able to provide vision and hearing screenings to children who attended. This group of folks are incredibly mission driven, kind, and compassionate and we thank each and every one of them for doing this very important work. They deliver services through many of our programs such as Woman, Infants, and Children, Healthy Families, Child Care Resource and Referral, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Head Start, and others! At UMHS, Inc. we partner with families to bring learning opportunities in fun and creative ways. Last month, our classrooms at the Neal Early Learning Center hosted a Family Night focused on healthy dental practices. Families came together to learn about how to help keep their children’s teeth clean and the children were able to create their own mouths to practice dental cleaning. This was a great opportunity for families to spend time learning together. In our next meet parents will learn all about gardening and the kids will stay in a Head Start classroom, with qualified teachers.
