Today we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose work reminds us of the power of service, justice, and caring for one another.

In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all UMHS offices will be closed on Monday, January 19, 2026. We will reopen with regular hours on Tuesday.

Thank you for helping us continue the work of supporting children, families, and communities—guided by the values Dr. King stood for.

It’s Giving Tuesday, a day centered around generosity, community, and lifting each other up.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give today, we’re excited to share that UMCHS is part of the Valley Giving Guide!

Your support helps us continue providing programs that strengthen families, support children’s growth, and make our communities healthier and more resilient. And when you give through the Valley Giving Guide, your donation can go even further thanks to matching funds and incentives!

If you’re able, please consider making a gift through our Valley Giving Guide link in this post.

Together, we can create brighter futures for local children and families.

UMHS is committed to serving our mission and supporting our children and families with early childhood care and education, nutrition services, and community-centered programs across eastern Oregon. This remains our focus during this time of transition with the federal administration and any impacts to federal funding. While this may bring uncertainty as it is an evolving situation, our focus is to remain open, accessible, and serving our communities. We do not anticipate any immediate disruptions to our daily operations. As a reminder, UMHS has diversified funding sources including local, state, and regional that support our various programs. Our senior leadership team is in close communication with our community partners across the state and nationally. We are staying up to date on any emerging developments and will keep you informed as we learn more. Regarding any other or related issues or matters, please direct your inquiry to our Main Office at 541-564-6878.

UMHS had the honor of showing Representative Greg Smith around the Neal Early Learning Center while discussing the importance of early learning and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)! This was an amazing opportunity to show him all the amazing things our programs do! 💙 #UMHS
