Registered Family Child Care
Requires 10 hours of training in child development every 2 years
3 hours in Human Growth & Development (HGD)
3 hours in Understanding & Guiding Behavior (UGB)
4 hours in any of the other CKCs (excluding PM and PPLD)
Certified Family Child Care
Requires 15 hours of training in child development every year
4 hours in Human Growth & Development (HGD)
4 hours in Understanding & Guiding Behavior (UGB)
6 hours in any of the other CKCs (excluding PM and PPLD)
1 hour in Health, Safety & Nutrition (HSN)
CPR/First Aid on Infants, Children, and Adults must be renewed every 2 years.

New Required Training
On September 30, 2022, a new required training called “Foundations for Learning” will be available. This is a free, 2 hour training on child development. This training will be available on the “Learning with OCCD” website in English and Spanish.
You will have 90 days starting October 1, 2022.
