SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

Its that time of year again when scholarships for college and awards for staff and parents need to be recognized. Chris Cooper sent out the NHSA scholarship and award booklet 2008-2009 to each site in the fall. If you haven't had a chance to look it over, please spend sometime doing so. There are some wonderful opportunities for staff and Head Start families to be recognized. Applications are simple to complete and shouldn't take too much of the applicants time. If your site doesn't have a NHSA scholarship book or the Frank Robert's scholarship applications, let Chris Cooper or Jesus Rome know.  You can download a copy of the Frank Roberts Scholarships below:

Applications need to be into Chris Cooper or Jesus Rome by April 10th.

 

Oregon Head Start Association

Frank Roberts - $1,500 scholarship for staff, parents, HS graduates who are interested attending higher education. Every site will receive a copy of Frank Robert's Scholarship application.

National Head Start Application

Parents-

Curtis Pride for Hearing--$1,000 award. Won two years ago by a student from Wallowa

Beating the odds-- $1,000 award

Parent of the year--$1,000 award

Ann Phipps--$1,500 scholarship award. Last year a parent was a finalist for the award

Phylis Jones scholarship--$1,500 award

Father of year-$500 award.

 

Staff-

Teacher of the year (Teacher)--$1,000 award

Support staff of the year ( Bus driver )--$500 award

Helen Taylor scholarship ( directors pursuing MA, PHD )--$3,000 scholarship.

Staff of the year (Health service professional)--$500 award

Edward Zigler scholarship (Pursuing PHD)--$3,000 scholarship.
