| January's theme was 'Community Helpers'. Hermiston I & II had some local community helpers come into the classroom to share their skills and talk with the children about their jobs. Michael Gilliland a local contractor came in with safety glasses, masks, and ear plugs for each child to try on as he did a small lesson measuring a child and cutting a piece of wood to the same height of that child. Police officer "Brian" from Umatilla was invited to share lunch and come into talk with Hermiston II children about his job. He also explained the different tools he was wearing as part of his uniform. |
