Team work - Herb is very supportive of the Head Start program as well as team members at each site. If there is an issue needing attention, Herb always reminds staff of the proper procedure (i.e. work orders to operations department). Herb is very helpful at sites and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure a job is done properly the first time. Staff comment regularly on how much they enjoy Herb and the time frame it takes to get something repaired/moved. Herb has always worked very well with all staff.

Leadership - We have had extra help in the maintenance department each summer and Herb takes the lead with the summer help and makes sure they follow procedure and safety. It is a learning experience for the students who work with him and he is an excellent teacher. Herb has a wealth of knowledge and he is willing to share and teach. Safety always comes first with Herb. If something needs to be completed, Herb will make sure it is completed and done correctly.
Outstanding performance for the month nominated - For Herb, every month is full of issues that need to be completed (more in the summer than winter months). During summer shut down, when we don't have Employee of the Month, Herb makes sure everything is completed at each of our sites. When teaching staff return their classrooms are safe, clean and ready to set up for another year of service to our children and families. There is an on-going list that never seems to end, however he seems to accomplish everything needed. |
