Teamwork: Elaine is a dual center bus driver for Irrigon and Umatilla. Elaine is one of the most important people in the morning that parents and children interact with. She is that vital link that represents my center along with the agency as a whole. Her relationship with parents and the children is very special. She always welcomes them at the door and shows interest in their day. Elaine allows the parents to feel comfortable to ask questions and share information. She is a part of our center and she takes helping in the classroom serious. Elaine supports parents and volunteers while they are in our classroom and at the bus stops. Elaine takes the time to learn about each child under her care whether it is how to zip their coat or holding a pencil (have you seen her dance). Elaine steps up to whatever is happening in the classroom or kitchen.

Leadership: Elaine has taken the
lead in making sure that the month’s information is sent out about
different safety issues. She has had information translated so that
every family is receiving the information. Elaine spends time with staff
members to learn more about child development and how to support all the
children.
Outstanding Performance for the Month Nominated: Elaine is a very devoted staff member and takes her position as a bus driver very serious. Her eagle eye on her pre-trip and post trip is very helpful in making sure that the children are getting to the center safe and sound. She understands how her bus runs and when it’s sick; she is very helpful in explaining her concerns and allows others to |

act fast. Elaine is very good at documenting her route that there are no concerns from parents on her times. Parents have expressed their appreciation over her protective nature of making sure that only authorized people are taking the children off. Thank you Elaine!!! |
