Congratulations Joan Gray!!! Family Advocate - Hermiston CDC |
|
|
Teamwork: Joan was asked on two occasions this month to drop everything and attend a meeting. She attended the Child Find Meeting to coordinate screening of young children in Umatilla County, as well as an IFSP meeting in Stanfield. Joan works with two teams (CDC & HHS), as well as maintains continuous communication with the high school counseling office regarding the teens she serves. When Jacque Erickson returned to the high school this month after being gone for a year, Joan connected with her to get re-acquainted and bring her up to speed on changes at UMCHS. |

Leadership: Joan is always looking to expand her knowledge base. She seeks out trainings that would meet the population she serves and is constantly seeking new resources to expand her repertoire. Joan just completed teaching her Incredible Years parenting class. She is very organized in this effort and her enthusiasm for the content is apparent. She has trained several new staff in this curriculum as well as Four Cornerstones to Financial Literacy. Outstanding Performance for the Month Nominated: Joan is an "unsung hero". She diligently works to get her job done and does it well without the need for recognition or attention. This month recruitment began in earnest and Joan took charge of identifying which families would be transitioning through the summer as well as beginning work on filling the EHS combo classrooms we're starting June 1. When she found out we had an additional 3 EHS home base slots to fill as of May 1, she didn't flinch. Joan quickly got |

to work on filling them. At the same time, Joan is working with her teen parents to be sure they are completing their graduation requirements and assisting them in their plans for the future.
Thank you Joan!!! |
